Anime collaborations are everywhere these days, but few have managed to strike the balance between fan service and wearable everyday style. In 2026, Skechers comes back swinging with its second Skechers x Demon Slayer collection-bigger, bolder, and packed with more character-inspired details across sneakers, Foamies®, apparel, and accessories.
We got our hands (and feet) on the Monster Evo in Black Multi, the Nezuko Kamado colourway. Here’s our full review, and whether this pair slays as hard as its namesake.
A collab that has levelled up
Following its 2022 debut, the collaboration returns with a full lifestyle expansion. This year’s lineup spotlights fan-favourite characters like Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Mitsuri, Muichiro, Giyu, and Shinobu, each referenced through colours, patterns, motifs, and that iconic 滅 (Metsu) symbol.
The hero of the footwear collection? The Skechers Monster Evo (RM459), available for men and women, built with the brand’s signature comfort tech including Air-Cooled Memory Foam® insoles, flexible traction outsoles, and lightweight cushioning.
Beyond sneakers, the drop now includes Foamies®, unisex apparel, tote and sling bags, and accessories, each piece tied to major Demon Slayer characters.

Every design carries a signature weave of anime references, from the 滅 (Metsu) symbol to sword-handle-inspired patterns, giving fans something instantly recognisable while still keeping the styling subtle enough for daily rotation.
Peak Nezuko energy
The Black Multi Monster Evo takes clear inspiration from Nezuko without looking like a costume. The upper leans on modern streetwear elements such as black overlays, sculpted panels, and a chunky profile, while her kimono details are incorporated in a subtle way. Pink accents tie back to her signature colours, the hemp-leaf pattern appears in stylised trims, and the red-and-white checkerboard adds a nod to her obi belt.

It’s a clever balance: the shoe carries enough from the anime to satisfy fans, yet remains wearable for anyone who simply wants a stylish, pink-accented chunky sneaker. It’s stylish enough to pair with athleisure, denim, or even a casual dress, basically, a versatile everyday silhouette that just happens to be inspired by a demon girl who kicks people through walls.
Soft & cushioned
Where this sneaker really shines is comfort, a category where Skechers rarely misses. The Monster Evo comes equipped with Air-Cooled Memory Foam®, creating that instant step-in plushness that the brand is known for.
It’s paired with a lightweight cushioned midsole that absorbs impact without feeling mushy, making the shoe suitable for long walks. The slip-on construction with fixed laces sounds like a minor detail, but it genuinely adds convenience, you get the look of laces with the ease of a pull-on sneaker.

Meanwhile, the combination of synthetic and textile uppers also ensures breathability, which is crucial for our warm weather.
Despite the chunky aesthetic, the shoe is surprisingly lightweight and the padded collar and flexible upper give enough room for wider feet while maintaining structure, and the traction outsole provides reliable grip on various surfaces, from slippery tiles to textured sidewalks.

The overall feel is soft yet supportive, the kind of pair you forget you’re wearing until you realise your feet aren’t aching at all.
Fully fleshed-out lifestyle offerings
The collection’s strength lies not just in the sneakers but in the fully fleshed-out lifestyle offering that complements them.
The new Foamies® Tai and Surge sandals (RM299) extend the character themes through removable Cali Bits and patterned straps, adding a fun, playful angle. Unisex sweaters (RM299) and graphic tees (RM179) bring anime visuals into street-ready silhouettes, while caps, bags, and socks round out the range for those looking to build a complete look.

The attention to detail across categories shows a commitment to creating a world rather than just a one-off product drop. On top of that, fans can collect exclusive Demon Slayer character cards with each eligible purchase, an extra little thrill that enhances the experience.
Our verdict
The second-generation Skechers x Demon Slayer collection improves on the original in almost every way, offering elevated design, greater variety, and a more fashion-oriented approach. The Black Multi (Nezuko) Monster Evo stands out as a polished, comfortable sneaker that blends character inspiration with modern streetwear appeal.
With its combination of comfort, detail, and everyday practicality, this pair earns a solid spot in any rotation, fan or not. This sneaker is clearly designed with Demon Slayer fans in mind, especially those who adore Nezuko, but it also appeals to anyone who wants a stylish chunky sneaker with a unique backstory. The design strikes an impressive balance between fandom and fashion, making it accessible even to those unfamiliar with the series.
