The Menu Rahmah initiative was started by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) and is an initiative by businesses that are carried out voluntarily. These menus are sold at an affordable price, as low as RM3.70 for a full meal to help Malaysians tackle the rising costs of living.
If you’ve fallen on tough times, or just need to be prudent with your spending, you can check out these restaurants that have hopped on the Menu Rahmah bandwagon:
McDonald's
Get a McChicken, McEgg, or Bubur Ayam McD all served with a small cup of Iced Lemon Tea at only RM5. We’re lovin’ it!
A&W
Dig into a Cheese Burger, Chicken Sandwich, or Fish Sandwich at only RM5. Eat your fill without worrying about the cost!
The Manhattan Fish Market
This budget-friendly menu is available from 10 am to 5 pm daily. Tuck into their Fried Dory Nuggets Garlic Herb Rice, Fried Chicken Nuggets Garlic Herb Rice, Fried Dory Nuggets Olio Spaghetti, or Fried Chicken Nuggets Olio Spaghetti. Being able to have pasta at only RM5 at this outlet is pretty mind-blowing!
Old Town White Coffee
At only RM5 per set, you can enjoy the following with a refreshing cup of Lime Drink: Nasi Lemak Rahmah with Sausage, Nasi Lemak Rahmah, or Nasi Lemak Rahmah with Minced Chicken. You can also top up RM2 to switch to another drink.
Burger King
We totally feel the love from these brands. Get a BK Chick’N Crisp or Cheesy Beef with a bottle of Dasani mineral water for RM5 per combo.
Texas Chicken
There’s variety and spice in these menus at only RM5 per combo, plus it comes with a bottle of Dasani mineral water. Go for their Spicy Korean Rice Bowl, Buttermilk Rice Bowl, or Smoky BBQ Flatbread. Yum!
Marrybrown
Get a chicken burger or curry rice with a bottle of Dasani mineral water at only RM5 at this international fast-food chain that was proudly founded by Malaysians.
Domino’s
Dig into their personal pizza at only RM5 each. Not only that, but the pizza is also RM3.90 on Super Tuesdays. We’re definitely going to get ourselves one (or two)
Bubblebee
This milk tea and bubble tea chain is offering these sweet treats at only RM5 from 18 February to 18 March. Grab them while you can.
Mydin
Head to Malaysia’s largest homegrown Halal hypermarket and retail chain for their lunch or dinner sets. At RM4.90 a set, there are different menus for each day of the week.
KFC
Although the famous fried chicken brand hasn’t branded this as their Menu Rahmah per se, their value bowls which are priced from RM3.70 has already been around for years.
PLUS
Stalls at various R&R stops throughout the country have joined in on creating their own Menu Rahmah. Check out their Facebook page for more.
AEON BiG
Head to any AEON BiG outlet except AEON BiG Sri Petaling & Mid Valley to enjoy rice sets complete with a bottle of mineral water. The promotion is valid from 12pm to 2pm each day until 19 March.
Chicago Chicken City
This Chicago-themed fast-food destination is offering fried chicken, flavoured rice, and a cup of Iced Milo at only RM5. The offer is available at selected outlets nationwide.
