Countries around the world have battled with the Covid-19 pandemic for over two years and some are now opting to waive the mandatory mask wearing rule.

However, in Malaysia, wearing masks is a must and the rule needs to be strictly adhered to.

Sadly, some people, especially foreigners who visit Malaysia, choose to ignore the rule.

Police is investigating an incident involving a foreigner who was not wearing mask at a shopping mall in Jalan Ampang.

According to a report in Free Malaysia Today, the man swore and made lewd gestures at a security guard after he was reprimanded for not wearing a face mask.

The incident was caught in an 18-second video which was shared on social media on April 16.

The report quoted a statement from Wangsa Maju district police chief Ashari Abu Samah as saying that a report involving the incident was lodged by the shopping mall’s security.

“Investigations are ongoing under Section 269 of the Penal Code, Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 and Regulation 18 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas) Regulations,” he said in the statement.

Remember guys, always wear your mask when you are out and about!
