Our whole life has been a lie!

Isn't it frustrating when you thought you found a parking spot, but then realised it's a reserved parking bay?

Don't worry, fellow frustrated Malaysians; your life is set to become easier soon.

Economic Planning and Development Department director Azmi Abdul Hamid told The Malay Mail Online that the reserved parking bays you see around the city have designated hours of operation.

In other words: the bays are only rented to businesses for a certain time period daily, and after that, it's open to the public.

Azmi clarified that the parking bays - usually painted with red lines and blocked with a pole - are only rented to businesses from 7.30am to 6pm from Mondays to Saturdays.

The general public can park at the bays after 6pm every day, and the whole day on Sunday, Azmi said.

The reason why we did not know about this was because the rule wasn't properly enforced all this while, but Azmi promised that it will all change soon.

The authorities will begin sending notices to businesses soon to remind them about the official time, and if they ignore the warnings, Azmi said the authorities would then refuse to renew their tenure, which is due for renewal every three months.

So, park away, you guys!
