Sigh, we humans do some really stupid things.

A woman in China found out the hard way that things don't usually work out they way you want it to.

A Chinese vlogger, in an attempt to show that she's super awesome, tried to eat a live octopus on a livestream but her plans went awry almost right away when the tentacled creature stuck itself onto the vlogger's face, refusing to let go.

The woman, who goes by the name of “seaside girl Little Seven,” was seen screaming in pain while trying to pry the octopus off her face.

The octopus also ‘sucked’ her cheeks, leaving a small wound.

After a few agonising minutes, she finally managed to get it off and, told the camera: "I'll eat it in the next video."

The video, uploaded on popular video platform Kuaishou, went massively viral on social media and got mixed reviews from netizens, who mostly showed their support for the octopus and described the incident as 'karma':

My goodness! Why would you risk eating something that can suck your face off first? https://t.co/eMbhaZtdUp

Iuch! That will teach her a lesson not to play with Octopus. Poor baby must have been terrified and eaten alive. ☹ https://t.co/rkAwBeXbOk

National Geographic had described octopus as a very intelligent animal, which can skillfully hide from its enemies.

What National Geographic didn't point out was the fact that an octopus could also mess you up if you do something stupid like this.

We really hope the woman learned her lesson.
