It’s no secret that Malaysians and many others around the world, have been vocal in their support for Palestine throughout the Israel-Palestine conflict.

With recent developments involving the Global Sumud Flotilla and the Thousand Madleen, many have taken to social media to share updates and condemn the Zionist regime.

Speaking of being vocal on the issue, one Malaysian property agent recently shared her experience of losing a client after posting about Palestine.

In a post on Threads, the agent explained how she had initially asked the client whether she was still interested in a property.

The client responded that she was indeed interested in the house, but then said she no longer wanted to deal with the agent.

Curious about what had gone wrong, the agent asked for clarification. That’s when she learned the client had refused to work with her because of her social media posts about Palestine.

“Sorry to say, but if you want to be a salesperson, please avoid posting about other countries' issues on your social media. Not everyone will be on the same page,” the client wrote.

Baffled by the response, the agent replied with “Free Palestine” before blocking the contact.

In a follow-up post, she clarified that her Palestine-related content was shared on her personal social media account, not her business page. She also noted that the client was a hijab-wearing Malay woman.

“Even if I did post about Palestine using my business account, that’s my right. Customers have no right to control what I post on my social media. I never spoke to her or asked her to support Palestine. No matter what, I won’t stop sharing and talking about Palestine, because it matters to me."

Unsurprisingly, the post went viral, with many social media users praising the agent for standing her ground. Others criticised the client for being unprofessional.

“Should have replied, ‘I’m also not interested in dealing with a Zionist supporter.’”
