This led to numerous ministers to undergo the swab test and House Surveillance Order (HSO) including Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as they were all present during a special meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office on 3 October.
According to Bernama, Muhyiddin says that the quarantine would not interfere with the government’s affairs.
“I will continue to work from home and use video conferencing for meetings that I need to chair,” he said in a statement.
Muhyiddin’s statement did not sit well with netizens as many felt that he and his fellow ministers could’ve done it the moment they returned from Sabah in late September.
Recently, Malaysians were outraged when the number of cases spiked in our country and blamed the government for allowing those who came back from Sabah to not undergo mandatory quarantine effective 27 September if their COVID-19 test turned out negative.
Dah tu kenapa tak kuarantin awal. Politicians untunglah, kuarantin 14 hari, gaji puluhan ribu still masuk. Sebab politicians tak kuarantin, berpuluh ribu ringgit duit rakyat akan habis untuk test orang yang close contact.

So, what do you think? Should the government implemented the mandatory 14-day quarantine from the beginning or not?
