When you're from a different country settling into a new one, one would tell you that it's never easy.

You would have to learn their culture and their language in order to fit in.

This Malaysian singer, however, did not have that problem at all.

Captivating Chinese audiences

Young and talented.
Malaysian singer Firdhaus has been making waves with his music in China.

According to Sin Chew Daily, the 22-year-old singer's original composition "Gulf Of Alaska" is a hit in the country, amassing over 170 million views on social media site Douyin (China's version of TikTok, in case you're wondering).

So, who is Firdhaus and why is he so famous in China?

Well, for starters, he speaks fluent Mandarin - which is no easy task, as this writer would tell you.

Sin Chew Daily reported that despite growing up in a Malay household, Firdhaus was sent to a Chinese-language school.

When he was about 12 years old, he discovered popular Taiwanese singer Jay Chou and the rest, as they say, is history.

More great things ahead for this young man.
Firdhaus is currently signed to Malaysian record label Loolala Music, and he recently released his EP titled 'A Letter' back in November.

We wish you all the best, Firdhaus!
