Neelofa And Family Fined A Total Of RM60,000 For Flouting SOPs At Wedding And In Langkawi
The guessing game surrounding Neelofa’s investigation over her alleged breach of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by the police has finally come to an end.
Malaysians finally have an answer as to what action will be taken against the entrepreneur, her husband, and guests at their wedding.
According to a press release from the Dang Wangi Chief Police, ACP Mohamad Zainal Bin Haji Abdullah, the investigation concluded on 26 April 2021, and it was decided that Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor would be compounded.

RM60,000 worth of fines

A very expensive work trip, too. The Naelofar hijab co-founder was fined RM20,000 for two offences; as the organiser of her own wedding where social distancing wasn’t practised and for breaching interstate travel permission by doing activities outside of her work scope.
Her husband, Muhammad Haris bin Mohamad Ismail, was fined RM10,000 for carrying out activities outside of the scope allowed during their trip to Langkawi.
As for her controversial wedding, 20 of her family members were compounded RM1,500 for not practising a social distancing of at least one meter during her solemnisation ceremony. The fines, which amounted to RM60,000, will be issued on 27 April and no discount will be given for any offences.
PDRM has also advised the public to follow the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) to prevent any action being taken against them.

Fair amount?

Despite the fines issued, many netizens were dissatisfied with the final verdict as many felt that RM60,000 is nothing for Neelofa compared to other citizens who were fined. So, what do you think? Is RM60,000 enough to teach Neelofa and her family a lesson?
