Season 8 of the epic TV series 'Game Of Thrones' will be invading your TV screen starting 15 April.
Featuring six episodes, the final season of the highly-acclaimed series will see all our favourite characters and houses (#TeamDaenerys) battle it out for the Iron Throne, but the Night King and his Army of the Dead are looking to spoil everyone's plan.
'Game Of Thrones' Season 8 will be coming to you the same time as the United States on HBO (Astro Ch 411, 431) and here's the best part: the episodes will be uncensored!
If you're not a fan of the series but you're afraid of being left out when your friends discuss how awesome that week's episode is, you can actually catch past seasons of the series on Astro On Demand and Astro Go.
So, before the start of Season 8, read up on some of the main players for the Iron Throne:
HOUSE STARK
The leading house of the North, the Starks reigned as Kings in the North until the Targaryen conquest after which they served as the region's warden for nearly 300 years. Following the execution of his father, Robb Stark severed ties with King's Landing and declared himself King in the North. That bid for independence came to a violent halt when Walder Frey and Roose Bolton murdered Robb and Catelyn Stark at a massacre known as the Red Wedding.
In an alliance arranged by Lord Petyr Baelish, Sansa Stark returned to Winterfell and married Ramsay Bolton who terrorised her. Sansa escaped and reunited with her half-brother Jon Snow. Together, with help from Littlefinger they were able to take back Winterfell, and Jon was proclaimed King in the North.

Sansa Stark
Ned and Cat's oldest daughter. Demure and ladylike, her dream is to marry Prince Joffrey. Her direwolf is named Lady.
Arya Stark
The younger of Ned and Cat's two daughters. A tomboy, she would rather fence than dance. Her direwolf is named Nymeria, after a warrior queen.
Bran Stark
Ned and Cat's younger son, who has an inquisitive nature and a penchant for climbing Winterfell's walls. His direwolf is named Summer.
Jon Snow
Ned's bastard son. He joins the Night’s Watch, following in the footsteps of his Uncle Benjen. His direwolf is named Ghost.
HOUSE TARGARYEN
The Targaryens came from the ancient civilisation of Valyria, bringing dragons from the eastern continent and settling on the island of Dragonstone. After a mysterious disaster known as the Doom of Valyria wiped out their homeland and killed most of the world’s dragons, the Targaryens invaded Westeros, becoming the ruling family.
Robert Baratheon’s rebellion eliminated most of the Targaryens and cost them the kingdom. Keenly aware of her birthright, Daenerys Targaryen returned to Westeros after years of exile in Essos. She put her plans to reclaim the Iron Throne on hold to align with Jon Snow against the Army of the Dead.

Princess of House Targaryen, living in exile in Essos with her brother, Viserys.
HOUSE LANNISTER
The wealthiest family in Westeros, the Lannisters of Casterly Rock ruled as kings in their realm until the Targaryen dragons conquered the continent. Cersei Lannister's marriage to King Robert Baratheon brought the family to King's Landing Cersei Lannister rose to power by eliminating her enemies, though she lost her three children in the process.
She now sits on the Iron Throne as the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

Cersei Lannister
Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and wife of King Robert. Fiercely protective of her three children, she also has an unusually tight connection to her twin brother, Jaime.
Jaime Lannister
The Queen's twin brother. It was he who murdered the previous King (Aerys), despite have sworn to protect him. This deed earned him his nickname: “Kingslayer.”
Tyrion Lannister
Called "The Imp," because of his small stature, he is the youngest son of Tywin Lannister, the richest lord in the Seven Kingdoms and younger brother to Queen Cersei and Ser Jaime Lannister. What he lacks in height, he makes up in wit.
HOUSE GREYJOY
House Greyjoy's power dates back to the reign of the great Grey King during the Age of Heroes. Legend has it that the Grey King ruled the sea itself and took a mermaid for his wife.
The Greyjoys have always had larger designs than ruling the Iron Islands, as evidenced by the ambitious – if misguided – rule of Balon Greyjoy. After Balon’s murder, Euron Greyjoy was elected king, while Yara brokered a deal with Daenerys Targaryen to support her own claim.
Theon Greyjoy
Ned's ward, heir to House Greyjoy. He was brought to Winterfell after his father, Balon Greyjoy, tried to rise against King Robert. Although raised among the Stark children, he is keenly aware he is not one of them.
Yara Greyjoy
Theon's older sister, she is the only child of Balon Greyjoy remaining on the Iron Islands.
