We are pretty sure you have some prized possession that you will never sell no matter how much someone offers you.
But if you have no choice but to sell it, it has to be for a price that's fair for you.

A piece of history

A part of history. A vintage shoes collector from Batu Pahat recently sold a pair of sneakers that is older than our former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to make ends meet.
According to Bernama, 31-year-old Wan Irfayuim Azim sold a pair of Converse Non Skid trainers made in 1917 to another collector for a whopping RM40,800.
Wan Irfayuim told the news agency that he put up a 'for sale' post on Facebook, and in less than a day, he received seven offers.
In the end, he sold it to a man in Pahang because he was willing to meet his asking price.
As goodwill, Wan Irfayuim said he threw in three pairs of Converse shoes from the year of 1950, 1960 and 1970 as gifts for the man.
Wan Irfayuim told Bernama that the pair of Converse Non Skid trainers has a historic backstory, so much so that another pair of the trainers are being kept at the Converse Museum in Boston.
He reportedly bought the shoes back in 2018 from an American couple who needed money urgently, and it came with a pair of shorts and knee protectors made in 1916, the attire of professional basketball players back in the day.
Wan Irfayuim said he hoped that the new owner, who is an antique collector, would take care of his prized possession the best he could.

Making ends meet

According to Wan Irfayuim, he had no choice but to sell the Converse Non Skid trainers to tide him over during these tough times.
He told Bernama that he had lost his job in the tourism industry in Japan after he could not travel back to the country due to the pandemic.
He added that he would now use the money to continue with his livelihood.
