We’re almost half way through the Movement Control Order and it seems like some of us are at their wits end on what other activities we should do at home.

Some of you have taken up cooking, some became baristas, some spending way too much time on TikTok, while the rest are just counting days until this whole thing ends.

But for one Malaysian, he decided to make the most out of his time by giving his room a makeover - or extreme decorating as he calls it.

Space cool

Ahmad Fathil Zakaria recently went viral on Facebook after he shared a series of photos of him transforming his boring room into a surreal, hyperrealistic spaceship that comes complete with lights.

The post has received over 4,300 shares and 4,400 like with many Malaysians praising Fathil’s creativity.

Room Inspo

Same door, different design.
In an exclusive interview with Rojak Daily, Fathil says the idea came to him as the spaceship was symbolic as his workspace.

“I want to make art and be as imaginative as possible without limits just like how big the galaxy is,” he said.

Some of you may think that his room looks something that looks like in ‘Star Wars’ or ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ but in reality, the artist says that the design was due to his love for sci-fi films.

Work in progress.
The room was decorated with the help of his wife Norhidayu and daughter, Tia.

“My daughter Tia is the most excited, she likes coming to the room to watch ‘Didi & Friends’,” the KL native added.

The AMAZING end results.
Well, it’s no surprise that he’s very good at what he’s doing, as he has been drawing since the tender age of four.

As for upcoming makeovers, Fathil plans to draw a mural in his living room and other rooms in the house as well.

So, do you think you can do something as productive and creative as Fathil?
