There have been so many news reports of officers in blue going above and beyond their duties to help people in need.

However, we have a feeling that nothing beats what these police officers in China recently did.

A car chase ensued

Several police officers from a police station in East China's Jiangsu Province, Suzhou, embarked on a 100km road trip just to stop a woman from being scammed...for the sixth time!

Yep, you read that right.

According to a report by Global Times, the woman, who goes by the name of Yu, apparently was so enarmoured with a phone scammer, she has been constantly transferring money to him.

In fact, the woman even went to the extent of borrowing money from her friends and relatives just to send it to the scammer.

Claiming that she had been brainwashed by the scammer, her desperate family had no choice but to ring up the police for help to stop her from transferring more money to the scammer.

Officers from the Suzhou station, who received the distressed call, had to drive for more than 100 kilometres to intercept Yu, who reportedly borrowed a colleague's car just so that she could drive to another city to perform the transaction.

"We drove non-stop for over 100 kilometres before intercepting her car and stopped another remittance, which would have cost her 20,000 yuan (RM13,000)," the police told the news portal.

Before this, Yu had transferred a total of 48,000 yuan (RM31,000) to the scammer in five seperate incidents.

The police have since frozen her bank account to stop her from making any more transactions.

Kudos to the police officers who went above and beyond to help the poor woman. They certainly deserve a raise.
