We are often told that primates, especially orangutan, are just like humans in a lot of ways.
A photographer's recent encounter with the animal further reinforced the fact.
CNN reported that amateur photographer and geologist from Kerala, Anil Prabhakar recently spotted an orangutan extending its hand to help a man out of snake-infested water.
Prabhakar reportedly spotted the amazing moment when he was on a safari at a conservation forest run by the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation.
"There was a report of snakes in that area so the warden came over and he's clearing snakes.
"I saw an orangutan come very close to him and just offer him his hand," he told CNN.
'Do you need a hand'?
Prabakar said at that moment, it really seemed like the orangutan was trying to say "May I help you?" to the man.
"I never expected something like that. I just grabbed that moment. It was really emotional," he said.
Prabakar said the man, however, didn't take up the orangutan's offer to help.
When he later asked the man on why he refused help and the man said that he was unsure of how the wild animal would react.
Prabakar however was happy that he caught the shot at the right time.
His photo of the moment shared on Instagram has been liked over 15,000 times.
That's one shot that the budding photographer is going to remember for a very long time!
