With the new movement control order (dubbed MCO 3.0) coming into effect in Kuala Lumpur on Friday (7 May), getting around the city will be quite a challenge.

If you're wondering if you could still travel state borders for your vaccination appointment, don't worry; it's OK for you to do so.

Science, Technology and Innovation minister Khairy Jamaluddin has confirmed that one does not need to apply for a police permit to get to their vaccination centers in another state.

He told Malay Mail that as long as you've obtained a vaccination appointment, you are allowed to cross districts to head towards your designated Vaccination Centre.

“I would like to clarify once again, I have clarified this matter with [Senior Minister] Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri that anyone with a vaccination appointment can cross into districts or states, as in the case of Klang Valley into Selangor vice versa, need not obtain a permission letter from the police.

“Just show their appointment on MySejahtera, or website print-out of appointment or SMS. That would suffice,” he was quoted as saying.


Khairy also added that security personnel in charge of roadblocks have also been briefed to allow people with vaccination appointments to pass through without a hitch.

So, worry not guys. You won’t be stopped if you are on your way to get vaccinated!

Just don't go carpet-shopping after you're done lah.
