One thing that is truly Malaysian that isn't being talked about enough is potholes on roads.

Almost everywhere you go, you're bound to find one - or if you're unfortunate enough, crash into one.

Despite it being a normal occurence, it is frustrasting to find that some authorities chose to disregard them and not fix it until something like this happens:

Well, one Malaysian politician has had enough of the non-action.

Getting it done!

Frustrated with the slow response from the authorities, a Pahang assemblyman has taken matters into his own hands.

Sim Chon Siang, a politician from PKR, got his hands dirty and started fixing the potholes littering the road of Jalan Beserah himself.

According to Sim, he got "fed up" of waiting for the authorities to fix the potholes.

He added that the potholes have become a major nuisance as they caused congestion on the roads along Jalan Beserah.

Sim shared several photos of him fixing the potholes on his Facebook page last week, including one of him directing traffic when the potholes were being patched.

He later shared a video to thank the police who helped him temporarily fix the potholes.

"I would like to thank the three police officers who helped to fix the potholes on the road so that it won't endanger other motorists," he wrote.

Authorities spring into action

In typical Malaysian style, the authorities sprung into action right after Sim's post went viral on social media.

Sim later provided an update that two hours after he patched the potholes, workers had added crusher run to cover the potholes temporarily.

Well, like the mighty Thanos once said: 'Fine, I'll do it myself'.

Well done, YB Sim! Thank you for your service to the people of Pahang.
