“Life must be hard” - M’sian Shocked by RM0.70 Extra Charge for Coffee to Be ‘Tarik’
Imagine ordering drinks like teh tarik, only to find out you need to pay an extra RM0.70 just for wanting your tea to be pulled.
That's exactly what happened to one Malaysian woman at a stall in Sibu, Sarawak.
In a post on Facebook, the woman shared a receipt outlining how much she was charged by the stall.
According to the receipt, her order of a cup of hot coffee cost RM4.30. However, since she wanted her coffee to be tarik, an extra RM0.70 charge was added.

As if that wasn't shocking enough, the receipt also showed that the woman was charged twice for using tissues at the stall bringing the total for what was supposed to be a simple drink to RM7, including taxes.
Needless to say, netizens were shocked to find such absurd charges. Meanwhile, other social media users joked that with the rising cost of living, it wouldn’t be surprising if stalls started charging patrons for simply using cutlery in the future.
One user shared, “Just wait for a few months. They'll start charging extra for workers to wash your used dishes and cutlery.”

Another commented, “This is shocking. Next time, just bring the foam from home.”

“Thank God he only pulled the coffee once. Imagine if he pulled it ten times,” said a user sarcastically.
