Usually, if you drop something into a pond, lake or ocean, the possibility of getting the thing back is next to zero.

However, a man in Taiwan miraculously managed to find his iPhone, which he dropped into a lake, a year later.

Sounds unbelievable, right?

According to a report by Mashable SEA quoting a Facebook community news page post, the man participated in a paddle-boarding activity in the Sun Moon Lake in March 2020.

He thought the phone was lost

Unfortunately, his iPhone 11 Max and the waterproof case it was in fell into the water during the activity.

The man, while sad that he had lost his phone, forgot about it and moved on with life, thinking that he’ll never get the phone back again.

Contrary to his belief, he received an unexpected call from a surf shop located at the lake a year later.



The shop had found the phone complete with the waterproof case, following a severe drought which caused the lake to almost dry up.

It revealed all kinds of lost things at the bottom.

Upon collecting his phone, the man found that it was still functioning, probably thanks to the waterproof case!

What a lucky guy!
