Looks like it wasn't just a bout of cirit-birit for our Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

It was something a little bit serious (or maybe a lot more serions, we don't really know).

Just a few more days in the hospital

On Sunday (4 July), the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) released an update about the condition of PM Muhyiddin.

According to a statement cited by The Star Online, Muhyiddin is still receiving treatment at the hospital for an infection to his digestive system.

The PMO also rubbished claims that it was a recurrence of a tumour.

"The Prime Minister was warded on June 30 and is still receiving treatment for an infection to his digestive system. After an intensive health check-up, there is no proof that there is a recurrence of his old tumour," the PMO said in the statement.

He still needs more treatment.
Muhyiddin's doctors have confirmed that he needs intravenous antibiotics, but he'll be able to go home in a couple of days' time.

"On the advice of doctors, he is now still hospitalised to continue receiving intravenous antibiotics. He is expected to be discharged in a few days' time," the statement read.

Currently, Muhyiddin is recovering well and is in a stable condition, and is allowed to continue with his duties while receiving treatment.

It's wise to lay off the spicy off for now, Mister PM.
