Trust Japan to come up with innovative inventions.
A Tokyo subway station has become the first in the city to install an inclined elevator.

A report on Japan Today said Akasaka Mitsuke subway station previously had a wheelchair stair lift beside a flight of stairs.

However, it took a long time to reach from one point to another and needed to be operated by a staff.

The inconvenience made the station opt for a new inclined elevator.

Improving accessibility

Cool!

The inclined elevator is not only faster, it is also user friendly where it is not limited to wheelchair users but also could be used by the elderly and those with prams and strollers.

How very convenient for those who need it!

According to the report, building a vertical elevator, which is the kind we usually see and use, will cost more money and time as a new vertical cavity will have to be built. Inclined elevator uses existing space and structure, making it a better choice.

Perhaps, establishments with wheelchair stair lifts in Malaysia can consider this as well?
