In just less than a week, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has become the most hated man in Malaysia:

His conduct and cavalier comments during a press conference to address the RapidKL train tragedy had Malaysians all riled up, with calls for his resignation growing louder by the minute.

Malaysians got their wish on Wednesday (26 May), as he was terminated as the non-executive chairman of Prasarana with immediate effect.

However, despite that, it seems that Tajuddin wasn't even fazed by the sacking.

'What is the issue?'

A few hours after the news broke, Tajuddin told Malay Mail in a phone interview that he has yet to receive an official termination letter.

However, according to the news portal, the Pasir Salak MP didn't sound remorseful during the phone conversation.

Tajuddin seems unfazed by the sacking.
"Not yet. Want to terminate, terminate then. What is the issue? What is the matter? Want to terminate, terminate lah. Thank you lah. I can do other work," he reportedly told Malay Mail over the phone.

Tajuddin even sounded like he couldn't wait to be terminated.

"If they want to ask me to resign, if there is an order, even better. No need to wait. Others can handle, not me alone. There are other smart, and hardworking ones," he was quoted as saying.

Sacking confirmed

On Wednesday night, a letter by the Ministry of Finance addressed to Tajuddin about the termination went viral on social media.

In the letter, Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz informed Tajuddin of the termination, and thanked him for all his contributions.

Tajuddin was appointed non-executive chairman back in May last year.

An officer from the Ministry confirmed to The Star Online that the letter was authentic.

Now that Tajuddin is gone, we really do hope that the next chairman of Prasarana is capable of empathy and understanding human emotions.
